Even when you own a home that you live in you are not necessarily able to have "dangerous dogs". When we moved into the last home we purchased about three years ago our new home owners policy asked if we would have dogs. We do have dogs and asked if that would be an issue (we have golden retriever) the insurance rep said no as long as it was not one of a handful of breeds. I understand not all "dangerous dogs" are bad and many are loving companions BUT you have to air on the side of caution.
